Life

What is life actually? What I am asking is life as we apply it. The actual things we do in a day to day basis. What do we think about? How do we think and our choice of action?
Some may say “I am a family man, all the things I do involved about my family”. That is very nice to the ears as we imagine the day to day activities would be. Is that ideal? May be yes to some, but some may back to differ. They might argue by just simply saying “You wish!”
Yesterday I had a discussion with a friend of mine. We both agreed that as we progress in life, we are more valuable in the market. I mean career wise. Things that we are doing give us more money. Not just that the challenge is getting more and more exciting. We awarded with bigger project that give bigger impact to the society. In short, throughout years of struggle and valuable experience earns, we are here living the dream.
Now the disturbing question comes “When do we say that enough?” Imagine as we about to put our pen down for retirement. The phone ring and another big offer come in, not just with big perks but that contribute to a life achievement. Do we say no? May be we say to our self this is the final one. Like what we have said to last ten offers we accepted.
I try to understand some people I meet that said if they stop working they will die. After a while of personal observation, now I understand. People like this they have been working all their life. Their day in and day out is about work. What they think, they do and their choice is mingling around work. So it very true to them if they stop working they will die. It is simply because work is their life. If no work is no life therefore it means as good as dead.
Does this sound familiar?

  1. We will never ever have enough of anything. If money is the issue, Bill Gates and his next three generatins will never have to work a single day. So why does he work: it is the power and the self esteem that he enjoys. The money is definitely useful. So for me retirement is never an option. I may retire from my work because of the age limitation. However I will start a new career as a 'gardener' in my little garden. I seriously think that we will have to do something to keep our minds occupied. Heera
